In accordance with the Law on Roads, the Transport Administration, as a administrative body that manages state roads (main and regional), among other things, performs traffic management and organizing and performing vehicle counting on the roads for which it is responsible.
The Transport Administration has established the System of Automatic Traffic Counting, which consists of the devices and equipment of 63 automatic traffic counters that have been installed at a total of 61 counting locations. On boulevard-type roads (two carriageways physically separated by a central reserve, each road lane has two traffic lanes), two devices are installed on one common pole in the central reserve.
